Sacramento Engagement Photos – Acacia and Joey

Acacia and Joey have been together for more than 3 years now and met through a mutual friend. They can’t recall who got whose phone number first. It was a long distance relationship since Joey is from Bakersfield and Acacia is from Sacramento. However, all worked well and were engaged last August 17, 2011. He proposed at The Il Fornaio Italian Restaurant in Downtown Sacramento. Joey brought a photo album of all their pictures throughout the years they’ve known each other and the last page of the album is a picture of Joey holding a sign “Will you marry me?”. What a cute idea! Of course, Acacia said yes and below are their engagement photos. Congratulations Acacia and Joey! We’ll see you soon as Mr. and Mrs. Valenzuela!

American Canyon Bay Area Engagement Session – Miriam and Sergio

Congratulations Miriam and Sergio!

Miriam and Sergio chose to do their engagement photo shoot in the baseball field in American Canyon High School. It was perfect for them because they are extreme Los Angeles Dodgers fan. We then drove to The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco for a sunset shot. Then we finished our shoot at Treasure Island California.

We love telling a couples story of how they first met. This is their story:

One Sunday morning, I made a trip to Costco in Fairfield, where Sergio was working in the membership/returns area. At the time I never saw nor knew who he was. The minute I saw him that day, there was something about him that caught my eye. I was next in line, HOPING in my head Sergio was going to be the one to help me next, as he felt the same when he saw me. Things worked out and I was his next customer. We hit it off immediately and exchanged numbers. From that moment we were inseperable! Sergio proposed last year Christmas eve at 12 midnight exactly. Surrounded by about 50 or so of his family members, he got on one knee, brought out a beautiful ring, and I happily screamed YES with tears. Here we are today, happy together, going on 10 years!

We are so excited for their upcoming wedding soon at Hiddenbroke Golf Club in Vallejo California.

Old Town Sacramento Yesenia and Brice Engagement Photos

Yesenia and Brice met at work at the age of 18. In the beggining, they didn’t even speak. Yesenia and Brice had their own agenda and never even thought they would have anything in common to make them friends. Slowly, through work aquaintences, they began to get to know one another. Still, they were both in relationships and very much living their own lives. However, as time continued to pass, they became close. They attended college classes together and really enjoyed each other’s company. It was a true friendship that was developing, they began going out very often with mutual friends. After years of just being close friends, Yesenia and Brice both found one another in the same place in life. Many changes in their lives took place from loss of loved ones to life lessons that made them both mature. They had now become best friends, but this did affect their “single status”. They were both single, however they didn’t allow themselves time to date due to always being together. Brice decided to tell Yesenia his feelings had changed for her, he had fallen in love. Yesenia was so hesitant, she didn’t want to ruin this special bond between them if things didn’t work out. She felt it wasn’t right and they should just remain friends. However, she too began to fall in love and realized that life is too short and it was time to follow her heart. After shortly becoming a couple, Brice proposed to her in front of his entire family on Thanksgiving 2010. After a year of planning their wedding, Brice and Yesenia are very excited to begin the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. Having a best friend for life to cherish and love is a truly uncomparable experience. February 18, 2012 Brice and Yesenia will become Mr. and Mrs. Jones.

Sacramento Wedding Photography

Last month I had the privilege of attending one of Gene Higa’s wedding workshop held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Downtown Sacramento. Gene is one of the best wedding photographers in the world and a destination wedding photographer based in San Diego, California. Gene shared his knowledge on weddings. He taught us how to find the natural light no matter what time of day it is. He also showed us how to design elegant wedding albums. After lunch we did some on location shots around Old Town Sacramento with bride and groom models. Gene says it is important not to forget to take a good portrait of the groom since some wedding photographers focus on the bride. This workshop was sponsored by PCL West Imaging, Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley and with the help of Click Monkey’s Photography meetup group. A great thank you to Jenifer Haupt for the Hair and Makeup of the models.
